Hiring activity in Taiwan (Province of China) tech industry increases by 0.7% in May 2022

The technology industry in Taiwan (Province of China) saw a 0.7% increase in IT hiring activity in May 2022 compared to the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

Overall industry hiring increased 5.74% in May 2022 compared to April 2022.

Of the total tech industry hiring activity, IT jobs claimed an 11.66% share in May 2022, down 1.02% from the average share for the past three months.

Top Five Job Classifications in Technology Industry IT Recruitment Activity in Taiwan (Province of China) in May 2022

Of the total number of job titles, the top five roles accounted for a 98.42% share of the Taiwan (Province of China) technology industry’s overall IT recruitment activity in May 2022.

1) Software and web developers, programmers and testers recorded a share of 71.54% in May 2022, registering a growth of 32.12% compared to the previous month.

2) Database and network administrators and architects claimed a share of 12.25%, an increase of 29.17% from the previous month.

3) IT support specialists held an 8.7% share, down 24.14% from April 2022.

4) Computer and information analysts captured a 3.95% share, up 150% from the previous month.

Top Five Tech Companies for IT Recruitment Activity in Taiwan (Province of China) in May 2022

The top five companies, by number of jobs tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 91.94% in share of the Taiwan (Province of China) technology industry’s overall IT recruitment activity in May 2022 over April 2022 .

Wistron posted 39 IT jobs in May 2022 and saw steady growth from the previous month, followed by International Business Machines with 27 jobs and 12.5% ​​growth. CommScope Holding Inc with 18 IT jobs and Intel with 18 jobs, saw 20% growth and 800% growth, respectively, while Trend Micro saw a 19.05% decline with 17 job openings in May 2022.

Junior-level job openings dominate in May 2022

Junior-level jobs held a share of 65.61%, up 37.19% from April 2022. Mid-level positions with a share of 19.76%, saw an increase of 19.05% compared to the previous month.

In third place were entry-level job vacancies with a 14.62% share, down 2.63% from April 2022.
