IT Recruitment Activity in Taiwan’s Tech Industry Grows 5.3% in March 2022

Taiwan’s tech industry saw a 5.3% increase in hiring activity in the IT sector in March 2022 compared to the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

Overall industry hiring increased 4.1% in March 2022 compared to February 2022.

Of the total tech industry hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 28.34% share in March 2022, registering a 0.48% increase from the average share of the past three months.

Top Five Job Classifications in Taiwan’s Tech Industry IT Recruitment Activity as of March 2022

Of the total number of job titles, the top five roles accounted for 99.3% of Taiwan’s tech industry’s overall IT recruitment activity in March 2022.

1) Software and web developers, programmers and testers recorded a share of 71.69% in March 2022, registering a growth of 40.45% compared to the previous month.

2) Database and network administrators and architects claimed a 17.4% share, an increase of 44.23% from the previous month.

3) IT Support Specialists held a 7.19% share, down 27.91% from February 2022.

4) Miscellaneous IT occupations captured a 1.86% share, down 33.33% from the previous month.

Top Five Tech Companies in IT Recruitment Activity in Taiwan as of March 2022

The top five companies, by number of jobs tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 115.66% in share of Taiwan’s tech industry’s overall IT recruitment activity in March 2022 compared to February 2022.

MediaTek posted 39 IT jobs in March 2022 and saw a 200% increase from the previous month. Applied Materials with 38 IT jobs and International Business Machines with 33 jobs, recorded growth of 11.76% and growth of 266.67%, respectively, while Trend Micro recorded an increase of 114.29% with 30 job offers in March 2022.

Junior-level job openings dominate in March 2022

Junior-level jobs held a share of 55.45%, up 23.83% from February 2022. Mid-level positions with a share of 27.15%, saw an increase of 25.81% compared to the previous month.

In third place were entry-level job vacancies with a 17.4% share, up 50% from February 2022.
