IT recruitment activity in the German tech industry increases by 1.8% in March 2022

Germany’s tech industry saw a 1.8% increase in IT hiring activity in March 2022 compared to the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

Overall industry hiring was down 1.06% in March 2022 compared to February 2022.

Of the total tech industry hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 24.47% share in March 2022, recording a 0.26% increase from the average share for the past three months.

Top five job classifications in the German tech industry’s IT recruitment activity in March 2022

Of the total number of job titles, the top five positions accounted for 99.25% of the German tech industry’s overall IT recruitment activity in March 2022.

1) Software and web developers, programmers and testers recorded a share of 73.21% in March 2022, registering a decrease of 3.24% compared to the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 10.16% share, down 16.29% from the prior month.

3) Miscellaneous IT occupations held a share of 8.11%, recording a decline of 10.53% from February 2022.

4) Computer and information analysts captured a 5.45% share, up 45.45% from the prior month.

Top five tech companies in IT recruitment activity in Germany in March 2022

The top five companies, by number of jobs tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined 7.6% average growth in share of overall German tech industry IT hiring activity in March 2022 compared to February 2022.

SAP posted 124 IT jobs in March 2022 and was down 6.77% from the previous month, followed by Deutsche Telekom with 107 jobs and down 6.96%. TIM with 86 IT jobs and Celonis with 83 jobs, saw a decline of 15.69% and growth of 492.86%, respectively, while ams saw a decline of 4.29% with 67 jobs in March 2022.

Junior-level job openings dominate in March 2022

Junior-level jobs held a share of 67.55%, up 2.06% from February 2022. Mid-level positions with a share of 21%, saw an increase of 0.98% from February 2022. to the previous month.

In third place were entry-level job advertisements with 10.77% market share, down 35.77% from February 2022, while senior job advertisements accounted for 0.68%, registering a monthly decrease of 23.08%.
